Owner – Kara Jenkins
Kara Jenkins was born in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago, where she and her family raised many different animals: cats, dogs, birds, gerbils, fish, mice, and horses. One of her loves was helping her mother breed, train, and show their Golden Retrievers. While growing up, she worked at her mother’s boarding and grooming kennel, where she learned about the different types of cats and dogs as well as their behaviors.
Kara helped with all facets of the kennel’s operations including walking dogs, training, grooming, and marketing. She graduated from the University of Arizona with a degree in Special Education and a minor in Exercise Sports Science. While attending college she cared for several of her friends’ pets whenever they would take trips. This included some exotic species such as: an Iguana, a Boa Constrictor, and Piranhas.
In 2001, Kara started TLC House and Pet Sitting Service in Arizona and has provided professional pet sitting services to TLC’s customers in their own home environment. With her love of animals she continues to keep updated with new developments and share her own experiences. She been the president and VP of the local pet sitting organization, Arizona Professional Pet Sitting Association (www.appsa.net); she was a board member for the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters (www.petsitters.org), and she has been written about in many newspapers as well as in a national magazine. Kara has received her pet CPR certification and oversees an annual donation campaign for sheltered pets and attends regular conferences for pet sitting professionals. Kara’s main objective is to continually gain knowledge and experience about animals and their behaviors to ensure her clients’ trust, and peace-of-mind.
In addition, she is well known in the animal care industry and has built long lasting relationships with veterinarians, groomers, trainers, rescue groups and other vendors in the community. When she is not running her business she loves spending time with her family, and her own pets: Niko, Golden Retriever who died 2010, Brownie, a rescued Chocolate Lab who died 2010, and Hunter a rescued Lab/Golden. Kara’s philosophy on running a successful business is: to gain the customer’s trust, provide personalized pet care, offer experience, continued education, open communication and most importantly to provide exceptional service for you and your pets.

Office Manager – Robyn
Robyn was born in New Jersey and has always had a house full of pets, including cats and dogs, lizards, frogs, rats, rabbits, and birds. For a few years before she started her Human family she even rescued and rehabilitated Iguanas.
Currently, Robyn lives with her fiance and their 3 furless children, along with her “herd”-The Mutts- Shaggy and Merlot; The Cats-Trouble, Cleo and Monjee; The Fids- Banshee the conure and Pooka the parakeet. Last but not least, a bearded dragon named Godzilla, five fancy rats, and a tank full of hermit crabs. The neighborhood kids love coming over to play at the “zoo”! She often takes her smaller pets with her to run errands and to the kids classrooms, using them as ambassadors to help introduce people to animals they may not have considered as conventional “pets”. The best part is when people walk up and start petting the rats without even realizing what they are and then are shocked at how friendly, clean and affectionate they are.
Robyn works in the office Monday through Friday answering phone calls and emails, and taking care of scheduling our clients visits and walks. Having so many furkids of her own, she understands how important it is that your babies are taken care of by our staff exactly how you would care for them yourself, and that each pet has its own needs and personality that need to be considered.
Office Assistant – Tori
Tori Molloy was born in a Chicago suburb. From there she moved to southern Illinois with her family. Tori grew up with dogs, cats, a hamster, and a fish. In 2016, Tori and her husband, Ryan, moved to Arizona with their two kids to be closer to family and for better job opportunities. Tori is Kara’s (owner’s) step-daughter and has been working on and off with the company for several years. When she moved to Arizona, it was natural that she would be working with TLC. Tori has been working in the office handling administrative items since 2006. She also has several years of experience in customer service. Tori has shadowed Kara on pet sits, and has learned all facets of the business. Tori works in the office ensuring that all paper work is up to date and helps Robyn, the office manager, on a daily basis.
